DOT COMME — A playfully simple identity for a playful archive

dot COMME is home to 3000+ archival pieces of COMME des GARÇONS, Junya Watanabe, Issey Miyake, Yohji Yamamoto & Walter Van Beirendonck — all from the personal archive of fashion collector Octavius "Otto" La Rosa.
Available online and across two floors in Melbourne’s Curtin House, this collection is meticulously researched and dated from specific collectable seasons, and plays a significant role in 20th and 21st century fashion history.
When Otto first decided to open his archive to the world, he needed a simple identity with the right amount of confidence and playfulness to compliment the incredible range of pieces. A playfully repetitive typographic mark nods to its namesake, inviting endless configurations and uses. The rest is kept hyper minimal — allowing these avant-garde pieces to shine.
